Life Safety Consulting — Alabama
Independent consulting for fire alarm systems, design review, and life safety inspections — grounded in nearly three decades of field experience.
Why REO Life Safety Consulting
Nearly 30 years in low voltage and life safety — including ownership of two contracting companies. Our perspective comes from the field, not just the drawing board.
As an independent consultant, our only obligation is to your project’s safety and code compliance. No contractor relationships. No conflicts of interest.
Life safety systems exist within real pressures of schedule and budget. Our reviews are thorough without being obstructive — we know what’s in the field because we’ve built it.
Specialized consulting across the full life safety project lifecycle — from initial design through final inspection.
System planning, specification development, and code compliance guidance for new construction and retrofit projects. We help owners, architects, and contractors get it right from the start.
Independent technical review of fire alarm and life safety drawings to verify code compliance and design intent prior to installation — catching issues before they become change orders.
On-site inspection of installed life safety systems to verify proper installation, code adherence, and system functionality. Covering fire alarm, emergency lighting, egress, and mass notification.
About
Founder & Principal Consultant
REO Life Safety Consulting was founded on a straightforward premise: the best consulting comes from people who have actually done the work.
With a career spanning field installation, project management, and executive operations — including the founding of two subcontracting companies — Robert brings a ground-level perspective that most design reviewers and inspectors simply don’t have. He knows what a well-installed system looks like because he has built them.
That experience shapes every engagement. When reviewing a set of drawings, he’s thinking about how it will be installed, not just whether it meets code on paper. When conducting an inspection, he knows the difference between a shortcut and standard practice. That distinction matters when lives are at stake.
REO Life Safety Consulting serves owners, general contractors, architects, and AHJs across Alabama who need an independent expert they can trust.
